July 12 1945- An Eastern Airlines flight from Boston to Miami with a stopover in Washington,DC and Columbia, South Carolina collide with the U.S. army air plane B-25 Mitchell bomber named around 3000 feet above Syracuse (about 20 miles from Florence).
Eastern Airlines airplane pilot, G.D. Davis, land the plane in a nearby corn crops. One passenger, a baby, died.
Aircraft bomber exploded; two died and one was successfully saved themselves with a parachute.
